So Paislee decided one day to take some taffy around to our neighbors and sell it. I found out when I saw her with a baggie full of money. When she told me what she did I was so mad because I told her she was not going to sell anything to the neighbors. Then I found out she sold some yucky taffy my parents brought back from Hawaii that wasn't fresh anymore for $2.00 a piece, I was beyond angry with her. So I made her take all the money back to the neighbors and apologize. How embarrassing, she not only sold them nasty old taffy, she freakin' ripped our neighbors off. She keep begging me to sell something because she wanted to earn money to go to Seaworld. I knew she had a good reason, so I finally gave in and told her only if she followed my rules. So she asked her best friend Emma to do a sweet stand with her. The rules were, #1- they had to pass out (mom approved) flyers the day before and they were not allowed to go door to door knocking, the customers had to come to them. #2- the kids were only allowed to come once because I didn't want them spend all their piggy bank money at the sweet stand. #3- the girls had to do the work and the mom's would just help. So the girls passed out their flyers and the next day we had a line up before the Sweet Stand even opened.
The girls ended up making $56, not bad huh? Paislee took all her money and put it in her piggy bank because she is saving her money to go to Seaworld. I think it was a great lesson all around, she learned how to work and make money. Then she learned the most important lesson, which is saving the money she earned for something she really wants, like going to Seaworld.Wednesday, August 15, 2012
