KINDERGARTEN

My biggest fear when I was on bedrest was that I would go into labor and not be able to take Paislee to her first day of kindergarten. So I was so happy and excited that I was still pregnant when the big day finally came. I decided I wanted to start some fun school traditions that we could do every year with our kiddos. So Chad and I let Paislee choose a special restaurant to take her to for her BTS dinner. We ended up at Tepanyaki's because Paislee wanted rice. Now I knew this day was going to be really hard because I have been dreading it since the day I brought her home from the hospital. So to help turn tears into excitement I decided to start some back to school traditions. Paislee started her morning with a visit from the school fairy who rang the doorbell and left special donuts for her breakfast. Then there were special notes around the house for Paislee that lead her to her backpack where the backpack fairy left a special gift. After we ate and got ready Daddy came home from work to come with us and well let's just be honest, it was also to help Mommy when she had a break down. So after I took pictures of my little school girl we headed over to the school. By the way this was the last picture I got of my pregnant belly, I was 35 weeks in this picture. When we got to the school Paislee walked right over to play on the playground with the other kids. When Ms. Calhoun came out to get the kids, Paislee was the first in line. Then she looked at us with the biggest smile on her face and waved goodbye to Chad and I. How could I be sad? My heart was breaking and I was holding back the tears but she was so happy and excited to go to school. I started to cry when she walked into the class but it didn't last long because I couldn't help but think about how excited she was. Chad still took me to Olive Garden to make me feel better. Then before I knew it, it was time to go and pick her up. I couldn't wait to hear all about her first day. We ended our school traditions with stroganoff, which is Paislee's favorite dinner and a smart cookie party. Paislee's LOVES going to school and loves her teacher, now if I can just get her to stop talking during class!
