Today Paislee had her Valentine's party at preschool. They played fun Valentine's games and then exchanged Valentine's notes & treats. Paislee brought all of her preschool friends a stuffed animal doggy, which they all loved and pretended to be doggies the rest of the day. (Sorry Miss Amy lol) I love my job for so many reasons, but one HUGE perk of teaching preschool is that I get to see all the fun things Paislee does at school.

WHO DAT WHO DAT!!!
Chad served his mission in New Orleans and we went back there together last year. So everyone including Paislee was excited that the Saints were going to play in the Superbowl. Before we left for church Paislee and I surprised Daddy with a "Go Saints!" sign outside on the front porch. After church we came home and got our Superbowl treats ready for the big game!
and for the first time in our entire marriage Chad and I were cheering on the same team. Yeah, yeah GO SAINTS!!!

NOTE FOR CUPID
So yesterday while I was watching Hallee & Buddy, Paislee and Hallee decided to make notes for Cupid and then leave them in Paislee's mailbox. The notes were adorable and really made me smile. So this morning Paislee found in her mailbox that silly Cupid took his love notes and then left another love note and lots of Valentine heart treats for them to share. Pais was so excited that she had to call and tell Hallee all about the treats they got!
DID CUPID COME?
CALLING HALLEE:
So Hallee was still asleep when Paislee called to tell her, so she is talking to Les. But while she was talking to Les on the phone she says something to me that melts my heart everytime she says it out of the blue!

BAD MOM!
So at the beginning of the month I put a pair of Paislee's pink hearts in her ears for Valentines. Well on Thursday she was wearing black and so I decided to switch her pink hearts to black hearts. Oh and another part of the story I need to mention is I had taught Paislee how to push the back of her earring on because we keep loosing the backs. So when I went to change her earrings the stupid earring had pierced another hole right through the little hole in her ear. The earring has a little piece that held the heart and the part that goes through the ear together. Well Paislee had push her earrings on so tight that stupid piece pushed right through the earring hole in her ear. I about died when I saw the hole, how did she not cry in pain and how did I not even notice? Right when I took the earring out is started to swell then bleed and then infection started oozing out. I feel so bad, and I still can't see the original hole for her earring. We have taken her earrings out for a while and we are treating the extra hole with cleaner and medicine. I think this definitely wins me mother of the year!!!
P.S. I took that picture two days after we took the earring out! It looks even 10 times better in that picture than the first day.

LOVE NOTES
So the 12 days before Valentines day Cupid leaves a love note for Paislee in her mailbox. She got her first love note today and she was so excited.
Daddy also got an empty jar with a note that said to collect the candy hearts around the house for the next 12 days. He can eat them if he wants or he can save them in the jar. I wonder what he will do?
(my bet is he eats most of them lol)

FRENCH BRAID
So it might sound strange if you have seen how I do Paislee's hair to admit that when is comes to a simple french braid I can't do it. I just can't hold the hair tight enough to keep the braid tight and it ends up looking horrible. Well it drives me crazy that I can't french braid, because everyone and their dogs can. I have had several people teach me their unique tricks to holding the hair and I have watched TONS of frech braiding video tutorials, but still no luck. The french braid is fun but really nothing that fancy to look at, it just drives me NUTS that I can't do it. So one of my new year's resolutions was to master the french braid in Paislee's hair. This is the second attempt and it's not perfect but by next year I will be a french braiding fool. I will be able to french braid in everyway, shape and form & also coming from every direction!

WAFFLE COOKIES
So for a couple of months I have been making a homemade treat each week. I make them for two reasons: #1- My hubby takes them to work (and he shares, but they have starting putting in requests for things we have already made) #2- I want a yummy homemade treat each week for Paislee to eat. I want her to remember that there was always a yummy homemade treat each week when she was growing up. Paislee also loves to help make the treat and we count how many eggs, cups of sugar, etc we use. It is really shocking to me how she actually remembers how much of each ingredient we use each week. She also doesn't mind eating them throughout the week either. So anyways the reason for this post is tonight I was looking through a cook book I forgot I had and found a recipe for waffle cookies. We had everything we needed so Pais and I thought we would give the waffle cookies recipe a try. BIG, REALLY HUGE mistake!!! After you make the batter you cook the cookies on the waffle iron. I thought this was a great idea because the funny thing is we got one for our wedding that has NEVER been opened. Well let's just say it took 1 1/2 hours, to cook the stuid waffle cookies. You can only cook 2 cookies at a time and they take anywhere from 2-3minutes depending on how big they are. You can't do anything between each cookie because there isn't enough time to. So you stand there waiting for each set of cookies to get done. Then to top it off they aren't exactly anything special. They taste really plain and kinda boring. So anyone making a treat this week, I STRONGLY suggest to stay far, far away from waffle cookies.

OH PAISLEE MY LOVE
So I decided I needed to document some of the things Paislee has done and said because really I am not sure where the heck she comes up with her stuff:
#1- THE SINGING PRAYER: So Paislee has started singing her prayers at meal time. I laughed the first time and then the second time explained to her that it was disrespectful to sing a prayer. She looked at me and said, "Mom I love to sing." and I responded with Paislee my love we don't sing prayers to Heavenly Father okay. She replied with, "Mom, have you ever even been to church? We sing all the time in church Mom and we sing lots in PRIMARY Mommy." I couldn't help but giggle and really what the heck do I say to that.
#2- I DON'T EVER MISS YOU: So when Chad is home Paislee is a naughty and just plain out mean to me. She will say things like, "Hurry Daddy so Mommy can't come." Really Paislee that is just mean and you are only 3. So one day when she was in the car I said, "Paislee why are you mean to Mom? Why when Daddy is around are you mean to me because it really makes me feel bad?" She responded with and I quote, "Well Mom what you need to see and understand is I don't ever miss you. See mom I am with you all the time and my dad goes to work. So I miss dad I never even miss you mom." I said "So Paislee that means you need to be mean to Mommy." She said. "I am sorry Mommy." So I then said well sweetheart it really make me feel bad when you are mean to me. She sat there for a second and said, "I am sorry mom that I am with you all the time and I will try and be nice to you." Oh Paislee my love!!!
#3- THE SKY IS BLUE: So as we were driving home from dance and Paislee said, "Mommy the sky is blue in the morning and blue at night." I said, "Yes it is love bug, how did you figure that out?" She said, "Well hello mom I just looked at it with my eyes ya know." Of course, why didn't I figure that out!
#4- IT BURNS, IT BURNS: So we had to resort to Tabasco for naughty talk at our house. Well after several times of back-taking Chad and I were done and decided to give her some Tabasco. So Chad was holding her as she fought him knowing what was going to happen. So I went to put the spoon of Tabasco in her mouth when she threw her head done and the spoon of Tabasco went right in her eye. She starting screaming, "It burns, it burns." So then we had to hold a crazy burning eye three year old down to flush her eye out and let me tell you that was a real treat. So after we were done we said, "How did that feel." She said, "It burned really bad." We keep going with this lovely learning experience and said "Well your mouth would burn tons, tons more." Let's just say we haven't had to use Tabasco again. So here's a bit of great advice when using Tabasco, go straight for the eye and not the mouth, J/K!!!
